Reading future trends has earned Carlos Slim the largest fortune in the world.
When Carlo Slim makes a prediction, it is natural that everybody sits up and takes notice. The Mexican communications mogul’s recent statement that Chile will become the first country in Latin America to enter the league of “developed nations” will surely warm the hearts of all Chileans.
This positive outlook is in contrast to what's happenning in Europe. Italy's downgrade from S&P followed Friday’s downgrade by Fitch Ratings of Greece's credit rating to B-plus.
So,why is Slim so bullish on Chile where his telecom behemoth America Movil SAB de CV (NYSE:AMX) has a significant TV and wireless telecom stake?
