For those who want to invest in Brazil from the US, here's a list of the US-listed Depository Receipt programs and the leading exchange-traded funds.

BRF - Market Vectors Brazil Small-Cap ETF (NYSE:BRF)‎ focuses on small-tomid cap stocks with a Brazilian business focus.

BZF‎ - WisdomTree Dreyfus ETF BZ Real Fund ETF (NYSE:BZF) is a currency ETF.‎

PBR - Petroleo Brasileiro S.A., known as Petrobras - Oil & Gas company that does everything in the industry.

PZE - Petrobras Energia Participaciones S.A. - Does Oil & Gas, but big into chemicals as well.

UGP - Ultrapar, distributes liquefied petroleum gas.

CZZ - Cosan, the leading independent ethanol producer.

CBD - Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao - National supermarket chain of Brazil.

ABV - Companhia de Bebidas das Americas - known as AMBEV - The big distributor of soft drinks, beer, carbonated and non carbonated drinks, plus is the distributor for PepsiCo. International products as well.

PDA - Brazil Foods, (formerly Perdigao S.A. )- Distributes food in different segments from meats, flour, dairy products, juices, animal feed, cheeses, deserts, and more. Perdigao and Sadia have agreed to merge.

SDA - Sadia S.A., a refrigerated and frozen protein products company that also offers processed meats as well.

BOBS - *A bulletin board stock - Brazil Fast Food Corp. Bob’s is often referred to as “Brazil’s McDonalds“.

:: Brazil Industrials Stocks:

BAK - Braskem S.A. - Chemicals company.

GGB - Gerdau S.A. - Steel company.

GOL - GOL Linhas Area - A low cost airline in Brazil.

ERJ - EMBRAER - Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S.A. - Builds private and commercial jets as well as runs charter service.

TAM - TAM S.A. - Main airline for Brazil. Provides international flights for Brazil as well as cargo services for the country.

:: Brazil Materials Stocks:

VALE - Companhia Vale do Rio Doce is a mineral powerhouse.

SID - Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) is a steel producer, but also has other minerals such as hot rolled, flat rolled steel, iron ore, tin, zinc, limestone, and dolomite.

Brazil Paper Stocks
ARA - Aracruz Celulose S.A. - Paper company.

VCP - Votorantim Celulose e Papel S.A. produces pulp and paper products.

TSU - TIM Participacoes S.A. - Focuses on the wireless cellular segment.

TNE - Tele Norte Leste Participacoes S.A. - Primarily in the fixed line telecom business.

BTM - Brasil Telecom S.A. - Primarily fixed lines, but also internet, wireless, and fiber optics.

BRP - Brasil Telecom Participacoes S.A.

TMB - Telemig Celular Participacoes S.A.

TCN - Tele Norte Celular Participações S.A. - Cellular company that provides service in the states of Para, Amazonas, Amapa, Maranhao, and Roraima.

VIV - Vivo Participações S.A., Mostly a cellular company that has a big foot in the wireless space as well as providing internet services.

NETC - Net Servicos de Comunicacao SA provides cable television services under the brand name NET, high-speed broadband Internet services under the name Virtua, and data transmission services using both satellite and terrestrial technology under the name Vicom. The Company mainly operates from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

EletroBras (NYSE:EBR) is the largest utility in Latin America. It operates 29 hydroelectric plants, 15 thermoelectric and 2 nuclear plants. This company is directly tied to Brazil's growth, providing 57% of the country's energy needs.

SBS - Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo provides water and sewage services in the territory of the state of Sao Paulo.

ELP - Companhia Paranaense de Energia - COPEL - Electricity producer/distributor for the Brazil state Parana.

CIG - Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais - CEMIG

CPL - CPFL Energia S.A.
